Remittances to Ho Chi Minh City totalled US$3.16 billion in the first half of 2022, down 13% from the same period last year, according to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) branch in the southern city.
The World Bank and the Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development (KNOMAD) forecast that remittance to Vietnam is estimated at US$18.1 billion in 2021.
The flow of overseas remittances to Ho Chi Minh City reached US$5.1 billion in the first nine months of 2021, up 22% year on year, the State Bank of Vietnam’s Branch in the city has reported.
