Nguyen Hai Dang breaks into world’s Top 60 in badminton rankings

VOV.VN - Vietnamese shuttler Nguyen Hai Dang has entered the world’s Top 60 for the first time, according to the latest update from the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

In the BWF rankings released on July 15, Hai Dang rose one spot to 60th place with a total of 25,500 points, marking the highest-ever position achieved by a Vietnamese male player.

The Ho Chi Minh City native secured this breakthrough after competing in international tournaments including the Canada Open and the 2025 US Open, which helped him accumulate valuable points to boost his global standing.

In the men’s singles rankings, his teammate Le Duc Phat also made gains, moving up one place to world No. 61.

According to the Vietnam Badminton Federation, both Hai Dang and Duc Phat have secured berths to compete at the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2025, scheduled to take place this August in France.
