Over the past three decades, Vietnam and the US have transitioned from former adversaries to strategic partners thanks to the efforts of governments and individuals in both countries, stated Brian Eyler, a senior fellow and Director of the Southeast Asia Programme at the the US’s Stimson Centre.
The Stimson Centre, a Washington D.C.-based independent think tank on international security and shared prosperity, has held a hybrid event commemorating 50 years of peace and reconciliation and 30 years of official relations between Vietnam and the US.
