The Vietnam Open 2025 is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 4 to 7, PPA Tour announced on its website on July 14.

The Vietnam event will serve as the final stop in a three-leg series of the 2025 PPA Tour Asia, alongside the Hong Kong Open (August 21–24) and Sansan Fukuoka Open (August 26–31) in Japan.

Organisers explained that the decision to expand the series to Vietnam was driven by the country’s rapidly growing pickleball scene and the impressive performance of Vietnamese athlete Trinh Linh Giang at the Panas Malaysia Open in July.

Giang claimed the gold medal in the Men’s Pro Singles after a dominant 2-0 victory over India’s Vanshik Kapadia. According to the PPA, Trinh Linh Giang’s quick footwork and cat-and-mouse playing style left a lasting impression. His emotional post-match remarks also resonated with global fans, further elevating his profile in the sport.

The PPA highlighted that Vietnam is emerging as a regional hotspot for pickleball. In 2024, the country recorded over 16 million regular players, representing a 152% increase, the fastest growth rate in Asia.

The PPA Tour is the world’s premier professional pickleball circuit, featuring top-tier international athletes. In Asia, the PPA Tour is structured across three tiers - Grand Slam, Cup, and Open. The Vietnam Open falls under the Open category, designed to widen the sport’s footprint and engage local fanbases.
