HCM City opens smart tourist information stations
VOV.VN - The HCM City Department of Tourism put two smart tourist information stations into operation on August 2nd, at Bach Dang Park and 23/9 Park, with the aim of providing tourists with an easy way to get travel information.
The stations have two computers with smart screens and internet connection which can help tourists search for information on roads, restaurants, shopping places nearby and means of transport to tourist attractions.
Covering on an area of 55 square metres, the stations will operate from 8 am to 9 pm every day. Staff will still be available at the stations to provide tourists with information and support.
In addition, a tourism handbook, map and a Code of Conduct are printed and translated into English, Japan, Russia and China to assist tourists.
The department is planning to co-ordinate with students and pensioners with good foreign language skills to work at the stations.
Le Truong Hien Hoa, director of HCM City's Tourism Promotion Centre, said the department will continue to develop the model at the Reunification Palace and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
