The provinces include Vinh Phuc, Ha Tay, Thai Nguyen Lang Son, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Bac Lieu, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Kon Tum, Hau Giang, An Giang, Tien Giang, Dong Thap and Dong Nai.

Other provinces nationwide have continued implementing the month-long programme to sterilise breeding establishments.

So far, anti-smuggling forces have uncovered 33 cases of transporting illegal imported chickens through the Lang Son border comprising more than 16 tonnes of chickens, 10,000 eggs and 156 kg of poultry organs.

All the chickens, eggs and poultry organs were destroyed.
