The Government has decided to allocate VND280 billion from the State budget in 2006 to restore and upgrade the sea dyke system stretching from the northern province of Quang Ninh to the central province of Quang Nam.

Northern and central localities often suffer the bad consequences of storms and floods every year.

Under the decision, signed on February 16, the Government asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to co-operate with relevant agencies to effectively implement dyke system upgrade projects so as to cope with natural calamities.
