The "Business Star" Award is presented biennially to promote the image of Vietnam as a rising star in Asia.

The award ceremony was part of the Business Roundtable with the Government of Vietnam, themed " Vietnam: Asia’s Rising Star", jointly held by The Economist magazine from the UK and the Vietnam Foreign Ministry.

PVI is among the 20 largest businesses in terms of capital mobilisation on the stock market. It is also the country’s second non-life insurance company, holding a dominating 97.5 percent market share in energy insurance.

In 2007, the company recorded a revenue of over US$119 million and a profit of US$15.6 million, quadrupling the 2006 figures.
