Thailand, Cambodia agree on closer cooperation

Thailand and Cambodia will maintain close ties and deepen existing cooperation, especially on issues of border affairs and labour, Thailand’s Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai and his Cambodian counterpart Prak Sokhonn agreed at a meeting in Bangkok on June 20.

Speaking to the media after their hour-long of discussion, Don Pramudwinai said a number of bilateral issues were discussed, particularly trade, investment, labour and border cooperation.

The two countries pledged to cooperate to tackle problems that they both are facing, such as human trafficking, the minister said.

The Cambodian Foreign Minister said progress has been made in several areas of cooperation, particularly border affairs and labour cooperation.

Prak Sokhonn earlier met with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, who expressed his willingness to connect with Cambodia in all fields.
