Thai King endorses major cabinet reshuffle
Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej endorsed the new cabinet list on August 20.
The names, submitted by Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, include former President of the state-owned Krung Thai Bank Apisak Tantivorawong to replace current Minister of Finance Sommai Phasee.
Junta economic advisor Somkid Jatusripitak was installed as a Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the government’s economic team.
PM Prayut said the cabinet reshuffle includes 20 new faces, including 10 ministers. The remaining names are scheduled to be announced latter the same day.
