Vietnam Airlines welcomes 94 millionth passenger

VOV.VN - The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) on December 27 hosted a ceremony at Noi Bai International Airport to welcome the 94 millionth passenger and mark the 800,000th flight managed by Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) in 2017.

Flight VN220 from HCM City to Hanoi landed at Noi Bai International Airport at 10:05 am the same day, carrying the 94 millionth passenger, Nguyen Van Huynh from Vietnam, and the 1.5 millionth member of the Golden Lotus Program of Vietnam Airlines, Nguyen Thanh Son, also of Vietnam.

Compared to 2016, the numbers of passengers passing through ACV’s aviation ports in 2017 surged by 16% to 94 million passengers. ACV has  improved management capability and upgraded the infrastructure system with modern technologies and facilities to ensure absolute security and safety for all flights.

Launched in December 1999, Vietnam Airlines’ Golden Lotus Program has made remarkable achievements, growing to 1.9 million members in 2017 and attracting a large number of passengers with its range of incentives such as mileage accumulation, business class lounges, and priority check-in service.

At present, more than 80 partners of the program bring a wide variety of desirable benefits to its members.
