Vietnam Airlines welcomes 350 millionth passenger, marking 30-year milestone
VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines held a ceremony on July 9 at Phu Bai International Airport in central Thua Thien-Hue province to welcome its 350 millionth passenger, an important milestone in the national carrier’s 30-year journey.

The passenger flew on flight VN1541 from Hanoi to Hue, which landed at 9 a.m. The occasion coincided with the 65th anniversary of Vietnam’s tourism industry and National Tourism Year 2025.
Upon arrival, the aircraft was greeted with a water cannon salute, an aviation tradition reserved for special events. The 350 millionth passenger was awarded a Platinum Lotusmiles membership card, two return Business Class tickets for domestic travel, and souvenirs. Ten other passengers near the milestone number received Economy Class tickets, while all travellers onboard were gifted Vietnam Airlines items reflecting the cultural spirit of Hue.

The event is part of a series celebrating the 30th anniversary of Vietnam Airlines Corporation (1995–2025), reaffirming its role in promoting tourism, trade, and regional development.
Over the past three decades, the carrier has transported 350 million passengers and 4.7 million tonnes of cargo, achieving average annual growth rates of 19% and 8%, respectively. Its fleet has quadrupled in size, now serving over 1,000 global destinations through the SkyTeam alliance.
Following pandemic-related disruptions, Vietnam Airlines has accelerated its recovery with new international routes to Australia, Germany, Italy, and soon, Denmark.
Looking ahead, the airline is poised to strengthen its global presence through network expansion, service upgrades, and sustainability efforts, especially in digital and green transformation. while maintaining its Vietnamese identity on the world aviation map.
