Da Nang promotes tourism at largest travel fair SATTE 2025 in India

VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang and national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines are showcasing local tourism potential at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2025 which opened in New Delhi, India, on February 19.

Speaking at the event, Huynh Thi Huong Lan, deputy director of Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center, noted that India is one of the city’s potential tourism markets as more and more Indian tourists arrive to join in MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), golf, and wedding tourism.

The presence of the coastal city’s tourism booth at SATTE 2025 will help to strengthen the connection that exists between Vietnamese businesses and Indian partners, she added.

India is also emerging as a key market for the Vietnamese aviation industry. At SATTE 2025, Vietnam Airlines worked with partners to promote direct flights from India to Da Nang.

Running from February 19 to 21, SATTE is considered the largest fair in South Asia aiming to increase destination awareness and establish stronger connections with travel partners in the Indian market, a country with a population of 1.4 billion. This year, the event has drawn the participation of 1,800 exhibitors and is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.

According to the Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center, last year witnessed the central coastal city welcome over 222,000 Indian visitors, accounting for nearly 50% of the total number of Indian visitors to Vietnam. Compared to 2019, the number of Indian tourists visiting Da Nang has increased by more than 13.5 times, making India the city's fourth-largest international tourist market.

Participating in SATTE 2025 is part of Da Nang’s broader strategy to boost tourism to key international markets in 2025. Earlier, the Da Nang Department of Tourism conducted promotional activities at events such as AIME in Australia and organized roadshows in Ahmedabad, India.
