Da Nang launches inland waterway tourism project with 20 new wharves
VOV.VN - The Da Nang People’s Committee has approved a major inland waterway tourism project aimed at enhancing the city’s river-based tourism infrastructure, with a total estimated investment of over VND 9,881 billion.

The project involves the construction and upgrade of 20 tourist wharves along key rivers in the city, including the Han, Vinh Dien, Co Co, and Cam Le rivers. Each wharf will be equipped with integrated facilities such as parks, entertainment areas, parking lots, ticket counters, waiting zones, and other supporting infrastructure.
In addition to improving transport facilities, the project seeks to enrich Da Nang’s cultural and nightlife offerings. The city plans to introduce river-based art performances and light shows, positioning its waterways as major nighttime attractions.
Investors will be allowed to operate eco-friendly passenger vessels with capacities ranging from 100 to 500 people. These boats must comply with environmental regulations and meet bridge clearance requirements along the rivers.
Funding for the project includes VND 1,482 billion from investor capital, with the remaining VND8,399 billion sourced from other legal funding channels. The project will span 50 years from the date of land allocation or lease.
Implementation will be carried out in two phases. The first phase, from 2025 to 2030, will see the construction of seven wharves along the Han River, between Thuan Phuoc and Tien Son bridges. The second phase, from 2028 to 2031, will focus on developing nine wharves along the Vinh Dien and Co Co rivers, and four along the Cam Le River.
