Textile expo attracts foreign businesses
(VOV) - As many as 357 domestic and foreign textile businesses are showcasing their state-of-the-art technologies and equipment at an exposition which opened in HCM City on April 11.
The Saigon Textile and Accessories Machinery Expo has drawn the participation of textile and garment producers from China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the UK, and Vietnam.
The exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese companies to learn from the latest textile technologies and seek potential partners, so as to increase the added value and localization rate in their products.
During the four-day event, workshops will be held to discuss the Vietnamese textile industry's competitive capacity and the potential of the US market.
The industry earned US$17.2 billion from exports in 2012, up 8.5 percent against 2011. It aims to raise the export value to US$20 billion by 2015.
