Schneider Electric invests US$45 million in Saigon Hi-tech Park

(VOV) - The Management Board of the Saigon Hi-tech Park on August 19 granted an investment license to Schneider Electric to build a production factory.

With the investment project, Schneider Electric will merge the group’s production factories in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park and Amata Industrial Park into a new one at a larger scale in HCM City’s district 9.

As scheduled, the factory will be put into operation later next year.

The Management Board said the US$45 million facility will become one of the largest factories in the Schneider Electric group’s global supply system with over 230 production factories.

The factory will be designed to meet increasing demand in the Vietnamese and global markets. With the application of LEAN Manufacturing model, it will be also equipped with the most modern facilities to produce hi-tech electronic products for smart homes throughout Vietnam.

Over the past two decades, Schneider Electric has always demonstrated a strong commitment towards Vietnamese people and their land, said Xavier Denoly, Country Director of Schneider Electric Vietnam, adding that the construction has affirmed its mission in Vietnam as a leading provider of energy management products and solutions.

Sirichai Chongchintaraksa, Plant General Manager at Schneider Electric Manufacturing Vietnam said he was very proud to bring their high quality “Made in Vietnam” products to customers in Vietnam and across the globe.
