At the official draw on July 7, the Vietnamese women’s team was placed in Group B alongside Myanmar, Laos, and India. Group A includes the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Japan, and host nation Thailand.

In the men’s competition, Vietnam is drawn into Group B with strong contenders such as Japan, India, Brunei, and Laos. Group A comprises Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, and Thailand. In the mixed quadrant event, Vietnam will face Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand in Group A.

Vietnamese athletes will also compete in the men’s and women’s regu and hoop events.

Ahead of the tournament, the national sepak takraw team will undergo a two-week training camp in Thailand.
