Vietnamese cueist finishes third at Las Vegas Open
VOV.VN - Local cueist Duong Quoc Hoang suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of his Polish player Wiktor Zielinski at the 10-ball semi-finals at the Las Vegas Open pool tournament played on February 26.
Due to the loss, Hoang came in at third place in the tournament and brought home US$7,500.
Despite suffering failure at the Las Vegas Open, Hoang still enjoyed a successful tournament as he defeated former world champions Ko Pin-yi and Shane van Boening consecutively to enter the semi-final stage.
The Las Vegas Open is an annual tournament that takes place a few days before the World 10-ball Championship.
Quoc Hoang, born in 1987, is the only Vietnamese player to be ranked among the world's top 100. He first made headlines at the Beijing Open in 2018 when he defeated Scottish star player Jayson Shaw 9-0.
