VOV.VN - Vietnam bagged 22 gold, 21 silver, and 13 bronze medals, finishing third overall at the 47th Southeast Asian (SEA) Age Group Aquatics Championships, which was wrapped up in Singapore on June 27.

Vietnam followed regional swimming powerhouses Thailand and Singapore in the final medal tally. Thailand topped the table with 38 gold, 29 silver, and 36 bronze medals, while hosts Singapore came in second with 26 gold, 26 silver, and 32 bronze. The strong showing highlights Vietnam's growing competitiveness in regional aquatics.
The tournament provided a valuable platform for Vietnam’s young athletes to display their skills and determination against top-tier regional competition. Among the standout performers was Nguyen Thuy Hien, who won four gold medals and broke three championship records. She excelled particularly in the women’s 50m and 100m breaststroke, outperforming strong swimmers from both Thailand and Singapore.
Held from June 19 to 27, the 47th SEA Age Group Aquatics Championships brought together hundreds of swimmers from 10 Southeast Asian nations. Vietnam was represented by a 38-member squad competing across all 105 disciplines.
