Vietnam edged out by Qatar in AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup quarter-finals
VOV.VN - Vietnamese men's volleyball team put up a strong fight but ultimately fell 2-3 to Qatar in the quarter-finals of the 2025 AVC Men’s Volleyball Nations Cup, held on June 21 in Manama, Bahrain.
The Vietnamese squad made a powerful start, edging out Qatar 31-29 in a tense first set. However, the reigning champions bounced back to take the next two sets 25-21 and 25-15. Refusing to back down, Vietnam leveled the match with a 25-23 win in the fourth, forcing a decisive fifth set. Despite their efforts, Vietnam came up short in the final stretch, losing 12-15.
With the result, Qatar advances to the semi-finals to face Pakistan, while Vietnam will compete in classification matches for rankings from 5th to 8th place.
