U23 Vietnam fly home to prepare for SEA Games 32
VOV.VN - After a losing streak at the recent Doha Cup in Qatar, coach Philippe Troussier and his players of the U23 team returned to Vietnam on March 30 to prepare for the coming 32nd Southeast Asian games (SEA Games).

Doha Cup 2023, a friendly tournament in Qatar, was considered a big test for Troussier who took over the national football team and U23 teams from his predecessor Park Hang-seo.
But in Qatar, Vietnamese dissatisfied fans when they lost 0-3 to Iraq, 0-4 to the United Arab Emirates and 4-5 to Kyrgyzstan after a shootout series, sending them to the bottom of the rankings.
Despite the loss, the French coach was satisfied with his players, saying they had performed rather well, giving him insights into their qualifications for appropriate adjustments in coming tournaments.
Doha Cup 2023 created an opportunity for the players to acquire practical experience and hone in skills for coming matches with big opponents, he said.
Troussier said he would call back the players for training on April 17 to prepare for the first football matches of SEA Games 32 due to take place in Cambodia in late April.
