Thousands of people to join Olympic Run Day

The annual event is one of the activities celebrating the 71st anniversary of the sports sector as well as the 86th year of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

The event aims to encourage Vietnamese to take part in regular physical exercise.

In HCM City, more than 5,000 people, including students, State officials, military officials and the elderly, will walk or run around both sides of Nguyen Hue Walking Street downtown, according to the Department of Culture and Sports.

The Olympic Run Day is an international movement promoting the practice of sports around the world.

Last year, around seven million people in 63 cities and provinces in the country participated in the run.
