Over 600 Vietnamese in RoK take part in community football tournament

VOV.VN - The second VAC CUP 2025 community football tournament took place in Asan city, Chungcheongnam-do province, the Republic of Korea, on July 6, drawing a large number of football teams and members of the local Vietnamese community.

The event was held in celebration of the upcoming 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2) and marked one year since the establishment of the Vietnamese Association in Chungcheongnam-do.

The tournament welcomed representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK, leaders from Chungcheongnam-do province and Asan city, local agencies and organisations, Vietnamese associations, Vietnam–Korea businesses, along with 12 men’s football teams and more than 600 Vietnamese nationals currently living, studying, and working in the RoK.

In his opening remarks, An Vu Binh, second secretary at the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK, noted that the sporting event is not only an opportunity for physical fitness and social connection, but also a powerful expression of unity, national pride, and love for the Vietnamese fatherland.

“The vibrant atmosphere today reflects the strong bonds among Vietnamese people, who remain connected to each other and their homeland, no matter where they are,” said Binh.

According to Nguyen Thanh Liem, president of the Vietnamese Association in Chungcheongnam-do, VAC CUP 2025 has received valuable support from local authorities in Chungcheongnam-do province, Asan city, and numerous businesses, showcasing their meaningful companionship with the Vietnamese community in the RoK.

VAC CUP 2025 is a celebration of solidarity, responsibility, and heartfelt connection among overseas Vietnamese. It also serves as an opportunity to share Vietnamese culture and values with Korean friends, contributing to deeper mutual understanding and stronger cooperation between the two peoples.
