Marathoner Thi Thanh delivers 3rd silver at 2017 SEA Games

VOV.VN - Hoang Thi Thanh finished the marathon at 2:55:43, roughly 7 minutes behind the gold medallist Mary Joy Tabal of the Philippines, on Saturday, August 19, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Thi Thanh gets off to a slow start but shows great determination in her comeback to win the second-place finish.

I hope the rest of the Vietnamese team will be encouraged by what Thi Thanh has shown today, says her coach.

She is one of the smallest marathoners but earns a medal with plenty of time to spare.

Vietnam now sits at four medals, with three silver and one bronze.

The marathon is the only event Vietnamese athletes compete in on Saturday, August 19, at the 2017 SEA Games.
