VOV.VN - Marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh on August 10 grabbed the silver medal in the final round of the men’s 50m pistol event at the ongoing Rio Olympics in Brazil. Some photos featuring historic moments:

After wining gold medal in men’s 10m air pistol event, Hoang Xuan Vinh is destined to win the second medal in men’s 50m pistol event.

In the qualifying round, after his fifth series with 95 points, he gains 12th position. At the final series, Vinh gets 94 points with two final shots scoring 10. With this result he ranks 6th and passes through to the final round.

The 41-year-old army colonel scores 191.3 while his competitor Jin Jong-oh from the Republic of Korea grabs the gold medal with 193.7 points.

With his success, Vinh has become the first ever Vietnamese athlete to grab one gold and one silver medal at the Olympic Games.
