Hoang Nam beats US player at M15 events in Thailand
VOV.VN - Leading Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam successfully defeated the talented Colin Markes of the United States, in the second round of the men’s singles of the M15 Chiang Rai tennis tournament which is currently underway in Thailand.

Going into the tournament as number three seed, Nam started the game with great confidence and determination. He worked hard to make the most of his strength in order to defeat his US rival with the final score of 6-4.
Previously, Nam also recorded an easy win over Jirat Navasirisomboon who was representing host nation Thailand. Moving forward, he will next face off against 21-year-old underdog Kasidit Samrej in the third round of the competition.
Nam has so far won five professional tour titles during the course of his career, with his rankings set to continue to improve providing he wins the M15 Chiang Rai 2022.
The leading Vietnamese tennis player now ranks 485th in the world, 100 spots lower than his best position back in November, 2018.
Furthermore, the tournament also serves as a warmup for him to prepare for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in mid-May, having won a gold medal in the men’s singles at the previous SEA Games.
