Four Vietnamese clubs not licensed for 2025/26 Asian tournaments
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has not granted eligibility for four domestic clubs to participate in club-level tournaments organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the 2025/26 season, during a recent licensing meeting.

PVF-CAND, Phu Dong Ninh Binh, Song Lam Nghe An, and Quy Nhon Binh Dinh FCs were not granted licenses due to their withdrawal of applications or failure to complete the required documentation by the deadline, said the VFF.
One notable exception is Song Lam Nghe An, which still has a chance to qualify for the AFC Champions League Two (Asia’s second-tier club tournament) in the 2025/26 season, provided they win the 2024/25 Vietnamese National Cup. They are scheduled to face Binh Duong in the final on June 26.
The other 11 Vietnamese clubs meeting standards have received licenses to play at the 2025/26 Asian tournaments.
On May 23, the VFF Licensing Committee will continue to grant licenses to local clubs to participate in the national championship for the 2025/26 season.
In the 2024/25 season, Nam Dinh FC were the first Vietnamese team to advance to the round of 16 in the Asian tournament.
Meanwhile, Ha Noi Police FC progressed through to the final of the ASEAN Club Championship. In the first leg of the final match on May 14, the Vietnamese club took the lead twice but were held to a 2-2 draw by Buriram United FC.
