After touching down in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the team begins their first training session at a destination located approximately 15 minutes away from their hotel.

At the training camp, interim coach Lee Young-jin, who will take charge of the U23 side at the Dubai Cup 2022, an international friendly tournament held in the UAE, introduces Gong Oh-kyun to the team.

According to the plan, Gong Oh-kyun will become the official coach of the U23 team after the SEA Games 31.

The team will have three training days before facing off against Iraq on March 23, before taking on Croatia three days later.

The tournament will see the participation of a total of 10 U23 teams, including Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Croatia, Japan, Qatar, Vietnam, China, Iraq, and hosts the UAE.

The friendly competition will represent a big test for the U23 Vietnam side ahead of the SEA Games which will be held in Vietnam from May 12 to May 23.
