Yagi damage: Severe landslide kills 6, injures 9 in Lao Cai
VOV.VN - A landslide triggered by heavy rain in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on September 8 killed six and injured nine others.

Due to the impact of typhoon Yagi, heavy rain caused rock and soil to fall down, burying four houses in Muong Hoa commune of Sa Pa town in Lao Cai province.
The incident happened at 1p.m. on September 8, said leaders of Sa Pa town, adding six people were killed and nine others were injured.
The landslide also buried many areas of crops and swept away a lot of people’s property.
Local authorities mobilized nearly 100 people to take part in search and rescue efforts and assist local residents in dealing with the aftermath of the landslide, by evacuating people from danger areas and relocating property to safe places.

Typhoon Yagi weakened into a low pressure area and moved into Laos after battering northern Vietnam, leaving more than 20 dead and hundreds injured.
Though Yagi has dissipated, meteorologists issued warnings about a high risk of flooding on rivers and streams, as well as flash floods and landslides in mountainous localities, especially in Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Lao Cai and Hoa Binh.
