Vietnamese students win medals at Int’l Maths Olympiad

VOV.VN - All six Vietnamese students brought home medals at the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2018) held in Romania recently, according to the Department of Quality Management under the Ministry of Education and Training.

One gold medal went to Nguyen Quang Bin, a 12th grader at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, while the two silver medalists were Phan Minh Duc, an 11th grader at the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Trinh Van Hoan, a 12th grader from Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong city.

Bronze medals were awarded to Tran Viet Hoang, a 12th grader at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong City; Truong Manh Tuan, a 12th grader at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and Do Hoang Viet, a 12th grader at Nguyen Quang Dieu High School for the Gifted, Dong Thap province.

The Vietnamese delegation is expected to arrive at Noi Bai International Airport on July 15. This year’s event was held at Cluj-Napoca, Romania from July 3-14.
