All four Vietnamese contestants won medals at the 43rd International Chemistry Olympiad that took place in Turkey from July 9-18. 

The Department of Examinations and Education Quality Assessment said on July 18 that Tran Thi Ngoc Quy, a 12th grader from Ho Chi Minh City and Pham Dang Huy, a 11th grader from the northern port city of Hai Phong won silvers. 

Pham Minh Duc, a 12th grader from Hanoi and Vo Duy Viet, a 12th grader from the central province of Binh Dinh secured bronze medals. 

At the International Biology Olympiad in Taiwan, Nguyen Trung Kien, a 12th grader from Hanoi, Truong Thi Phuong Thao, a 12th grader from the central city of Da Nang and Nguyen Thu Trang, a 11th grader from the northern province of Nam Dinh took bronze medals. 

Eleventh grader Dang Thu Trang, also from Nam Dinh, won a certificate of merit. 

Earlier, the Vietnamese team brought home a gold, two silver and two bronze medals from the International Physics Olympiad in Thailand.

The Vietnamese mathematics and computer teams will compete at the international Olympiads in Netherlands and Thailand at the end of this month.
