Vietnamese Sailing Ship 286 concludes China exchange programme
VOV.VN - Sailing Ship 286 – Le Quy Don of the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) left the Xinzhou Naval Port in Guangzhou city on May 16, concluding its exchange programme with the People’s Liberation Army Navy of China (PLAN).

At the farewell ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Giang, deputy director of the Vietnamese Naval Academy and head of the Vietnam People's Navy delegation, expressed gratitude to the officials, commanders, officers, and sailors of the Guangzhou Base and the People's Liberation Army Navy for their warm reception and the favourable conditions provided, which enabled the delegation to successfully carry out their activities during the visit.
During the May 12 – 16 trip, Vietnamese officers and sailors paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Guangzhou Base, engaged in cultural and sports exchanges, organised mutual ship visits between the two navies, and toured several historical and cultural sites in Guangzhou city.
Through these exchange activities, the delegation made a positive impression on the Chinese side, further promoting the relationship between Vietnam and China in general, and between the two countries’ militaries and navies in particular. It also highlighted the image of the country, people, and the friendly, peace-loving personnel of the Vietnam People’s Navy.
After the farewell ceremony, the sailing vessel 286 departed from the Xinzhou Naval Port, continuing its voyage to visit and engage in exchanges with the Philippine Navy.
