Typhoon Nakri brings torrential rain and flooding to Phu Yen
VOV.VN - An array of torrential rain and flooding battered the south-central province of Phu Yen throughout the afternoon of November 10 as a result of the impact of typhoon Nakri.

During the early morning, local authorities and other relevant units urged households throughout Xom Cang of Bach Dang and Le Duan residential areas in Tuy Hoa city to evacuate and head to shelters for their own safety. |

Most of the homes located in Xom Cang are of poor quality and have been built to only last for a short period of time. |

Border guards collaborate with other forces in order to help with the evacuation of over 100 households from dangerous areas. After leaving their homes, local residents are guided to safer locations. |

A representative from Phu Yen province’s Military Command notes that the unit will be on hand to assist in the evacuation of local residents, in addition to arranging accommodation for people in need, especially children and the elderly. |

The Phu Yen People’s Committee also requests that localities mobilise necessary forces in order to help residents move to safe locations. As a result of the impact of the typhoon, the province is expected to evacuate some 10,000 households over the coming days. |
