As a result of this combination, this weather pattern will likely bring stronger winds and heavy rains to the central and the central highlands region.
It is expected that when the typhoon strikes the mainland it will cause strong winds and huge waves of between three metres and four metres in height throughout south central coastal areas.
Moreover, heavy rains are expected to hit provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ninh Thuan on the morning of October 30, according to Khiem.
Khiem warned that the typhoon shares a number of similarities with other storms that have previously caused serious consequences, noting that local authorities and residents should remain on high alert and take preventive measures ahead of the arrival of the storm.
Local border guards have already deployed plans in response to the typhoon, including counting fishing vessels and boats from Quang Binh to Ba Ria Vung Tau. As of the morning of October 29, approximately 741 fishing vessels sit within the danger areas.
