Students awarded AmCham Vietnam scholarships
(VOV) -The Ho Chi Minh City campus of Vietnam National University and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Vietnam granted scholarships to 76 outstanding students on December 1.
Herb Cochran, Executive Director of AmCham Vietnam, said the scholarships’ primary purpose is to boost trade and investment between Vietnamese and US businesses.
US businesses always demand the highest quality of human resources. The scholarships were founded to find and nurture Vietnamese talents.
In addition to financial support, students will be equipped with necessary skills via participating in several training courses before entering a professional working environment.
After 12 years of operation the AmCham Vietnam Scholarships have now involved 11 of Ho Chi Minh City’s largest tertiary institutions.
Nearly 500 students have so far benefited from scholarships worth a total of VND4 billion. This year 45 additional scholarships valued at VND10 million each—and 76 technical skills training placements—were also presented.
