Ship carrying chemicals sinks in the Dong Nai river

VOV.VN - A ship transporting tons of chemicals sank in the Dong Nai River in An Binh ward, Bien Hoa City in the southern province of Dong Nai on the morning of November 19.

The owner of the ship says all the chemicals that were onboard have been brought to shore.
Dozens of blue tanks were salvaged in the aftermath of the incident.
The label indicates that the chemical, hydrochloric acid, is produced at Bien Hoa Chemical Plant
Nguyen Van Be, 43, the owner of the vessel says he received 20 chemical tanks which contained 26 tons of hydrochloric acid from Bien Hoa Chemical Plant on November 18.
The ship collided with rocks under the river due to a low tide, causing holes at the bottom of the vessel. Water quickly flooded the ship causing it to be submerged.
Mr Be said all the chemical tanks were sealed, so there is no leakage of any chemicals.

A representative from the Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment said there has been no environmental incident caused relating to the ship.
