These sets of remains were discovered in and repatriated from Savannakhet province in Laos by the Quang Tri provincial Military Command’s collecting team during the 2017-2018 dry season. The action demonstrates the responsibility and gratitude for Vietnamese martyrs who laid down their lives to achieve peace for the two countries. This is the fruit of sound friendly relations and the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
In addition to the above sets of remains, Quang Tri also received and reburied the remains found in a collective grave in Laos.
Earlier on May 9, Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony for the reinterment of 18 sets of remains of voluntary soldiers and experts discovered in Laos at Ba Doc Martyrs' Cemetery.
