Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan expressed his great appreciation for the creation of training programmes and the raising of scholarship funds by UK’s business community to support effectively Vietnam’s education.
The number of scholarships granted by the UK government to Vietnamese students and cadres was increased annually helping Vietnam generate a more highly-qualified human resource base.
Ambassador Mark Kent confirmed that the UK government want to continue to coordinate with the Vietnamese government to raise the practical elements of life in education, particularly, vocational training, to meet social demands. He also applauded Vietnam’s efforts in education and training in recent time.
Also on the occasion, on behalf of the UK government, ambassador Mark Kent invited Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan to attend a series of seminars for ministers of education and training, themed “training skills and technological education in 21st century”, which will be held in the UK from January 14-22, 2009.
