PM Phuc wades through floodwater to visit Hoi An people

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc waded through floodwater along streets of Hoi An ancient city on the afternoon of November 7 to inspect losses caused by storms and floods and encouraged residents to take drastic recovery efforts.

PM Phuc left Da Nang City on the afternoon of November 7 for Hoi An ancient city in Quang Nam province to inspect flood recovery efforts.

After meeting residents, the PM held a working session with leaders of Hoi An City.

The Prime Minister expressed sympathy over the losses and acknowledged Quang Nam province’s search and rescue efforts and endeavour to ensure enough food and clean water for local people.

Quang Nam also plays host to events within the framework of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week. So, it is required to clean up after floodwaters recede to ensure environmental sanitation and quickly stabilize people’s lives.

PM Phuc asked Hoi An city, Quang Nam province to mobilize all forces, especially the army, police, youth and local people to overcome the damage caused by floods to soon restore daily life and production.


On November 8, nearly 700 soldiers and policemen of Quang Nam province and local residents cleaned up streets, especially the areas close to the city’s centre.


It is an urgent demand for Hoi An ancient city to manage the negative impact of floods to ensure safety for visitors, especially delegates attending the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week. Pictured is the PM presented gifts to local residents.
