PATH celebrates 35th anniversary

(VOV) - A leading US-based global health organization, PATH, on December 8 hosted a ceremony in Hanoi marking 35 years of partnership and innovation in Vietnam.

The event was attended by head of the Ministry of Health's International Cooperation Department Tran Thi Giang Huong, US Deputy Chief of Mission in Vietnam Susan Sutton and PATH President and CEO Steve Davis.

In a speech, Steve Davis said, “PATH’s work in Vietnam continues to represent the best in global health innovation. Our collaboration with the government and many development and private sector partners has saved and protected many lives.”

Besides, PATH is also committed to working with local partners to respond to a significant emerging public health challenge in Vietnam in the future.

PATH is the leader in global health innovation. An international nonprofit organization, PATH saves lives and improves health, especially among women and children. Accelerating innovation across five platforms—vaccines, drugs, diagnostics, devices, and system and service innovations—PATH harnesses its entrepreneurial insight, scientific and public health expertise, and passion for health equity.

PATH’s work in Vietnam began in 1980 with an early focus on improving local condom manufacturing capacity and reproductive health. This focus quickly broadened to a wide scope of public health challenges.
