A crew member was found on March 20, while three others remain missing after a fishing boat sank on the afternoon of March 18 off the coast of Nghe An Province.
According to the latest updates, rescuers located one of the missing fishermen about 10 nautical miles from the site of the incident.
The survivor, identified as 30-year-old Tran Van Huu, was wearing a life jacket but was in poor health at the time of rescue. He was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment. Search efforts for the remaining three crew members are still underway.
The vessel, NA-80209-TS, captained by 40-year-old Nguyen Van Cuong, reportedly went down in waters between Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, approximately five nautical miles from Mat Island.
The boat had set sail on March 17 and was en route back to shore when it sank for unknown reasons. The missing crew members include Captain Nguyen Van Cuong, Tran Van Huu, 30, Le Tuan Anh, 20, and Bui Sy Nhat, 48, all residents of Nghe An.
