New high speed trains put Vietnam on the fast track

VOV.VN -The Saigon Railway Company placed two newly-acquired trains into operation on January 26 in a bid to meet the high travel demand between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays.

The trains are equipped with modern and comfortable facilities, a representative of the Saigon Railway Company said, adding that the carriages are also insulated to reduce noise.

In addition, passengers can easily access the internal network on train via free Wi-Fi to watch movies, listen to music, read books, play games or find tourist information (restaurants, hotels, local produce) when linking to the webpage TouristOne.

To mark the event, the company reduced the train fares by 10 to 15% during the Lunar New Year holidays.

The trains, coded SE7 and SE8, are scheduled to stop by 29 stations along the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route during the 35-hour trip.

Fares cost US$24.50 to US$58.9 (VND548,000 VND to VND1.32 million VND).

Passengers can buy tickets at railway stations or via e-ticket systems at http://dsvn.vn.
