“We’ll collect and submit children’s opinions at this forum to the Government for consideration. I firmly believe that their aspirations will be met,” said Dao Hong Lan, Vice Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Chief of Social Policy and Governance at UNICEF Vietnam Yoshimi Nishino said that individuals and social organisations should join hands to prevent violence against children, which leaves negative psychological and physical impacts on them.
A good legal framework will create foundation to enforce children’s rights, she said, adding that outdated traditions or practices affecting children must be abolished
The forum was co-hosted by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the National Assembly, and the Vietnam Youth Union.
