Massive fire engulfs shops in Binh Duong leaving 1 dead

The victim was identified as Pham The Huynh, 35 who resides in Tien Giang. He is the younger brother of the owner of the Phu Long stationery shop on Vo Nguyen Giap road, Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city in BInh Duong province. As the fire broke out, the blaze rapidly engulfed the store and he was unable to escape.

According to local witnesses, passers-by saw black smoke billowing from thePhu Long stationery shop at 4:30am and tried to extinguish the blaze themselves. However due to the ferocity of the fire, residents in neighbouring areas were forced to flee in panic as the fire quickly spread to the nearby water electric store as well as to Viettel’s transaction office.

After the alarm was raised, ten fire engines along with dozens of fire fighters rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze. Several explosions were heard during the inferno as the shops contained flammable materials inside.

The fire was finally brought under control at 8:30am. The body of the victim was taken out while local police conducted further investigations into the incident at the scene.
