Major cross border drug smuggling operation thwarted in Nghe An
VOV.VN -Border guards in Nghe An province have broken up a major drug trafficking ring, seizing a large amount of drugs in the process following joint efforts with the Nam Can international border gate, the My Ly border station, and Ky Son district’s police force.

The suspects were identified as Xong Ba Hu, 30, and Xong Ba Va, 31, both of whom are residents of Muong Ai commune in Ky Son district.
At the scene, police forces seized 60,000 pills of synthetic drugs, 2 kg of methamphetamine, along with one grenade.
During their arrests, the suspects attempted to use the grenade, at one stage even pulling the pin in a bid to flee the police. Fortunately, their attempts to set off the grenade were unsuccessful and they were overpowered by the arresting officers.
A further investigation into the case is currently underway.
