Lightning kills three workers in Ninh Thuan
Lightning killed three workers and injured two others in central Ninh Thuan province on October 3 afternoon.
The victims were workers at the construction site of Thuong Song Ong hydro power plant. Around 15 workers were present inside their temporary houses when lightning struck, knocking five of them unconscious.
Nguyen Van Trong (32), Le Van Hai (21), and Luong Van Anh (28) died before being admitted to hospital, while Nguyen Van Viet (28) and Nguyen Van Phi (27) recovered after nearly two hours of treatment.
All the five victims were from Dien Chau district of central Nghe An province and just began working at the site for nearly one week.
Local authorities have visited the bereaved families and the injured to offer sympathy and help.
