Korean doctors to help improve Da Nang hospital treatments

VOV.VN - The Republic of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will dispatch a team of volunteer doctors to work at Da Nang Hospital for two years, providing technical support for the hospital.

The doctors will arrive as part of a medical support program worth nearly VND10 billion that the RoK Government has offered to Da Nang hospital in the aim of helping to improve the capacity of medical team and the services provided.

Over more than three-years of cooperation, 7 training courses in nuclear medicine and cancer treatment have been carried out under the program at Da Nang hospital.

It has included the installation of an online medical consultation equipment system, and seen the periodic holding of online medical consultations to share professional experience and assist in curing difficult and complicated diseases by connecting Da Nang hospital’s doctors with leading professors of Yonsei University.

Ho Dac Hanh, a doctor at Da Nang hospital, said Yonsei University is one of the best universities in the RoK. KOICA entrusted Yonsei University to provide assistance to Da Nang hospital. This is an opportunity for the local hospital to expand its ties with many prestigious medical universities in the RoK.
