Jade Buddha for Universal Peace comes to Soc Trang

During the time the statue is displayed, preaching sessions, requiems, and worship ceremonies for national and global peace and prosperity will be held.

The statue is 2.7 metres high and weighs 4 tonnes. It was carved from an 18-tonne jade block and sits on a 1.4m-high alabaster throne. 

The Jade Buddha for Universal Peace has been worshiped in 20 countries and  was welcomed to Danang, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, and Bac Ninh province in 2009.

This year, after Soc Trang, the statue will be received in some other provinces before returning to Australia.
