Innovation centre debuts to boost Vietnam – China tech cooperation
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Centre for Innovation and Science and Technology Transfer (VISTEC), under the Vietnam-China Business Council (VCBC), made its debut in Hanoi on July 7 with the aim of enhancing technology exchanges and collaboration between Vietnamese and Chinese firms.

At the launching ceremony, VCBC leaders highlighted the immense demand for science and technology collaboration between Vietnamese and Chinese businesses. However, they noted, practical implementation faces many barriers, particularly the lack of a specialised, capable bridge to transform research into real-world applications and investment opportunities.
In this context, they said, the establishment of VISTEC is expected to serve as a technology connector within VCBC to promote innovation, technology transfer, and enterprise collaboration between Vietnam and China.
More than just a platform for technology mobility, the centre aims to accompany global investors from initial concept and market analysis to commercialisation and scale-up, meeting the evolving needs of businesses, they stated.
A key strategic role of VISTEC is addressing the pressing shortage of high-quality human resources, a major challenge in the process of technology transfer and localization in Vietnam. To meet this need, VISTEC plans to collaborate with universities, research institutes, and training organisations both domestically and internationally to design specialised training programmes tailored to specific technology sectors and international partner requirements.
On this occasion, VISTEC and Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration (TUEBA) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote innovation and applied research in e-commerce and digital transformation.
The partnership also includes training and developing high-quality human resources, supporting business needs, facilitating trade promotion, market connection, and nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation.
