Doctors in central region updated with endoscopic ultrasound techniques

The Asian Endoscopic Ultrasound Group and Vietnam Federation for Digestive Endoscopy held a training course on November 22-23 at the Hue Central Hospital to improve knowledge and skills for 30 doctors from general hospitals in the central region.

An endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a procedure that uses sound waves to create visual images of the internal organs in the chest, abdomen and colon.

Participants were updated with new EUS techniques from the region’s leading experts in this field, particularly Prof. Kenjiro Yasuda from Japan’s Kyoto Second Red Cross Hospital and Prof. Pankaj Desai from Asian EUS India. The two professors practiced endoscopic ultrasound on multiple patients.
